Final Results Manx GP

Chris Sarbora had a very credible 46th out of 59 finishers.  Good result for you first time on the roads.   I'll see if I can get any comments out of him and Travis. 

Manx GP Update

Travis McNerney brought his Suzuki home 25th out of 27 finishers in the Supertwins race at the Manx.  Good job for the first time out.

Isle of Man

I have posted a link to the right with some photos of a trip to the TT races back in 1995.  My wife and I were married in Scotland and spend the Honeymoon at the TT.  Hope you like the story.

Good Results for Americans at the Manx GP

Chris Sarbora, after qualifing 17 out of 33 in the Newcomers A Race has finished 11th out of 27 finishers and earned a Replica trophy aboard his Wylie and Holland Yamaha R6, supported by DocuSign, REV"IT Apparel and 01RaceFX.  His speed was 104.36; he continued to run faster with each outing. Congrats Chris.

Travis McNerney finihsed  5th out of 18 in the Newcomers B race aboard his SV 650 Suzuki at 97.351 MPH in the Super twins class. He also earned a Replica trophy.  Congrats Travis.

Both riders should be racing again next week.  

Anthony Bakker continues to recover from his terrible crash and I have no updates on him, hopefully he is doing well. 

The Milk Crate Lesson 2

A couple of things you really can't see while looking at your tube framer; the shift/brake rods and the fuel valves.  

The rods started life as 6061 aluminum tubes we bought in bulk.  Tim Milner or Henry Duga would cut them to length and than tap the ends to allow ball joint rod ends to be secured.  These allow free movement throughout the length of travel. With having to adapt the old fashioned Sportster motor not being set up for a sporting riding position these were important.      

The fuel valves were simple alumimum tube but each had to be cut to length and then Henry would solder little mesh filters on the end.  Each one was a little work of art.   

Anthony Bakker Crashes

Anthony BAkker had a serious crash at Ballycraine and is in Noble Hospital.  He is concious and has send me an email so that is good news.  Other than that I do not know.  It was a very nasty crash. 

Americans at the Isle of Man Update

Rain cancelled the first practice session for the three Americans trying for the Manx GP.  Chris Sarbora, Anthony Bakker and Travis McNerney are the first Americans to race modern machines at the Manx in ten years.  They will have to wait until Monday for their first real taste of the Mountain Circuit.  They have been around with roads open and have toured the course with experienced hand Chris Palmer but riding in a bus is no substitute for real laps.

Sabora will be riding a Wylie and Holland Yamaha R6 and is supported by DocuSign, REV"IT Apparel 01RaceFX and would like to thank all who offered support.

Americans at the Isle of Man

Chris Sarbora, Anthony Bakker and Travis McNerney are entered for the Manx GP on the historic Isle of Man TT course.  The Manx is sort of a low key version of the TT races.  The sharp end of the field for the Manx is not quite as sharp as it is for the TT races but the course remains as challenging and dangerous.  

The riders may be a bit slower but they are not really slow by any means.  Many top TT stars first competed in the Manx so even qaulifying for this event will be tough.  I wish them luck and i will try to present as much news about them as I can.
